The latest football sensation is Spanish teenager Lamine Yamal, who is only 17 years old and already a European champion.
The Barcelona and Spanish forward scored one of the best goals of the Euros, and Lamine Yamal stats are off the charts.
He’s one of the most exciting La Liga players, and he could be here to stay for a long time.
Yamal isn’t quite held in the upper echelon of players like Ronaldo and Messi, but at the age of 17, he’s well on his way.
His UEFA Euro soccer goal in the semifinal against France was out of this world, and it thrust him onto the world stage.
He was already a highly-touted player – you have to be to make the Spanish national team as a teenager – but he’s now a household name.
To go along with the goal, that helped Spain beat France on their way to beating England in the Euro Final, Yamal showed that level of talent possessed by the Catalonian native.
England great Gary Lineker likened Yamal to the greats of the game at his age.
“I remember the emergence of Wayne Rooney. You could tell he was special but even he didn’t do this. Pelé scored two in a World Cup final but he was 17, nearly 18. Even [Lionel] Messi didn’t really emerge internationally until his late teens,” Lineker said.
“What we’re seeing here is something very, very special. How special, we will have to wait and see. To do what he is doing: I can’t quite get my head around it.”
Putting that level of pressure of Yamal will make it tough, but he’s surrounded by quality players, which helps. Having a player as professional as Rodri on the Spanish team is an asset, so he’s in good hands.
Lamine Yamal stats will show that he’s much more than just a goal scorer, but the goal against France was incredible.
It was his final goal of the tournament, but he set up his teammates in the final to beat England 2-1, so he’s a good passer as well.
However, his goal against France was next level, and it reminded us of a David Beckham free kick.
Beckham often had the luxury of having a run up to his curveball kicks, but Yamal did it on the run without much of a look.
He expertly slotted the ball into the top left corner of the net, and the goalkeeper never stood a chance of saving it.
It turned the Euros on its head, and it gave Spain the shot in the arm to go all the way.
Don’t forget, France made the 2022 World Cup Final, so it was the more accomplished team entering that semifinal.
The goal was 10/10. It’s hard to find a goal better than that in 2024, and with that comes a lot of respect and air time.
Spain went through some tough times, but with the team they currently have, winning the 2026 World Cup is a possibility.
Yamal is a key part to their success, and because of their success at the Euros, Spain firmed into +900, which is a value price.
Soccer betting odds have France and Brazil favored at +550, but we think they’re way too short compared to the likes of Argentina and Spain at +900.
Brazil were knocked out of Copa America and France looked average in the Euros, so the overrated tag is already out.
Spain has a young team built for the future, and there’s no doubting that alongside Argentina, it’s the best team in the world at the moment.
England is a +650 chance to win the World Cup, which isn’t a great price. It hasn’t won a major tournament since 1966.
Bettors should expect Yamine Lamal stats to improve over the next two years, and with that, Spain’s chances of winning the glory at the World Cup in the United States.
