(CNN) – Actor Ewan McGregor made it to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 53-year-old Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning actor was honored with the 2,798th star on the street next to the El Capitan Theatre.
McGregor made his breakthrough in the 1996 film, “Trainspotting.”
The Scottish-born actor also appeared in movies like “Black Hawk Down” and “A Life Less Ordinary” before playing the iconic role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in “Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace.”
McGregor would reprise the role in two additional Star Wars films and the Disney+ mini-series “Obi-Wan Kenobi.”
Recently, McGregor finished working on David Robert Mitchell’s new film, “Flowervale Street.”
He also serves as a goodwill ambassador for the non-profit organization UNICEF U.K.
“I wanted to do this all my life, since I was a little boy, I wanted to be an actor. And I feel like that’s what I’m meant to do and I’m so blessed to be able to do it,” he said during the ceremony.
