Sabre now provides Air Canada’s full content via New Distribution Capability through Sabre’s travel marketplace, the companies announced on Wednesday.
Sabre-connected travel agents can shop, book and service Air Canada NDC offers alongside EDIFACT content and low-cost ancillary XML options.
Air Canada’s NDC content is available in Canada, Australia, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the UK and the US, according to the companies. New markets will be activated based on demand.
“This partnership with Sabre marks a significant step forward in Air Canada’s NDC programme,” said Mark Nasr, executive vice president, marketing and digital, Air Canada. “From local independent agencies to large corporate travel management companies, our travel trade partners were, are, and will always be crucial to Air Canada’s commercial success.”
Sabre last year announced an agreement with Air Canada to distribute NDC content. The carrier’s per-ticket fee of US$20 to US$30 on bookings made through traditional EDIFACT-connected channels, launched in 2023, will be waived for Sabre-connected travel agencies using the NDC path.
