A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is playing his part in the club’s efforts to bring in a new goalkeeper.
That’s according to a whole host of sources, who point towards Robert Lewandowski as the player in question.
It is of course common knowledge that the brass at the Camp Nou are actively seeking out fresh blood between the posts at present.
This comes owing to a serious knee injury suffered by no.1 Marc-André ter Stegen, over the weekend.
Barca, in turn, have turned their focus to the free agent pool, with one name having quickly come to the fore as the Blaugrana’s first-choice – Wojciech Szczęsny.
Shot-stopper Szczęsny actually retired over the summer, after the mutual decision was made to terminate his contract at Juventus.
The Barcelona board, though, are now actively working towards coaxing the 34-year-old out of retirement.
And, in efforts towards as much, the Catalan giants’ push is being aided by none other than the aforementioned Robert Lewandowski.
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘Szczesny and Lewy are close friends and the Barça player would love to have him as a teammate at the club, so he is also willing to do his bit to convince him.’
