Lake Joondalup Baptist College has secured a partnership for its football academy with world-renowned German football club Borussia Dortmund.
The partnership makes LJBC an official partner of the club, which will see visits from coaches from the BVB youth academy and access to an online academy learning platform.
Most impressively, the partnership will also provide opportunities for LJBC teams to visit Germany and train at Borussia Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund’s other partnerships across the Asian Pacific region will also enable the school’s academy to collaborate and compete in sporting projects closer to home.
“We are thrilled to host Borussia Dortmund’s Youth Academy here at LJBC,” LJBC principal Paul Sonneman-Smith said.
“This partnership is a testament to our dedication to developing the next generation of footballers and athletes. Our students will greatly benefit from the exposure to Borussia Dortmund’s world-class training philosophy and we are proud to be part of their global outreach.”
The partnership was officially unveiled on Saturday, with the head of BVB Football Academy Christian Diercks and other club representatives visiting the college grounds for a presentation, campus tour and a hands-on training session with the academy students.
LJBC’s partnership with Borussia Dortmund, who were runners-up in this year’s UEFA Champions League Final, is the club’s first in Australia and set to provide a new pathway for young footballers in WA.
