Travel management firm Navan has bolstered its European rail content by adding Austrian national train operator ÖBB’s services to its booking platforms.
The move means that business travellers can now book more than 40 European rail operators through Navan’s tools, including all the major train companies in the German-speaking DACH region, such as Deutsche Bahn and Switzerland’s SBB.
Navan said that last year rail travel accounted for 44 per cent of its intra-Europe travel bookings across the continent.
Michael Riegel, CEO of Navan, EMEA, added: “Ensuring our customers have easy access to local plane and train operators has allowed us to scale quickly in the DACH market.
“Our partnership with ÖBB means Navan customers can now book, change, or cancel train journeys on all major rail carriers from the DACH region.”
ÖBB operates 6,600 trains across its network including Railjet, Intercity, Nightjet and EuroCity services.
Navan’s existing rail content covers train operating companies in the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland and Italy. The TMC also offers rail fares from Amtrak in the US on its booking platform.
