Forward Kylian Mbappe secured his dream move to Real Madrid in the summer but, having not made the sizzling start many were expecting at the Bernabeu, he was left out of the France squad.
France manager Didier Deschamps has said the 25-year-old was going through a difficult period, while Real boss Carlo Ancelotti said Mbappe was “down but motivated” to succeed at the La Liga giants.
