Golf GameBook, the leading golf app, has successfully closed a €2.5 million funding round led by Spanish and Nordic investors, consolidating its position in the European market as the top golf app on the continent.
Designed for all-level golfers, the app supports 25 different game formats, making it the most dynamic and social way to keep score in golf. Golfers can connect and share live scores, comments, photos and videos, whether they’re on or off the golf course. Headquartered in Finland, the app is widely used across the Nordic region, with Sweden being its largest market, and is rapidly expanding in the US, UK and other European countries.
With a user base of more than 1.5 million users in over 100 countries, the company continues its global expansion with the aim of becoming an essential tool for golfers and golf clubs. The capital raise was completed in a record-setting one month, driven by demand that exceeded all expectations.
Among the most prominent investors in this round of financing is the Spanish footballer and businessman Álvaro Morata, who shared his enthusiasm: “I have been a golf fan for years, and when I was presented with this great project and opportunity to invest in one of my favourite hobbies, I didn’t hesitate for a second.”
The round also includes several representatives from the All In Sports Management agency, known for representing top golfers like Ángel Ayora, Ángel Hidalgo and Santi Tarrio. Javier Ballesteros, who leads the agency’s golf division, expressed his support: “I think Golf GameBook is an application that can help a lot to the world of golf, not only at amateur level, but also at the level of clubs and federations.”
In addition, entrepreneur Álvaro Taracena, known for his involvement in the sports world through Hyrox, one of the biggest fitness trends in Spain, is also part of this group of investors. Several relevant private investors from the Spanish and Nordic financial sectors also participated in this round.
Mikko Manerus, founder and CEO of Golf GameBook, highlights the company’s momentum: “We’ve built a robust user base in both the B2C and B2B segments in the Nordic market, solidifying our position as the leading golf app. Securing a strong group of investors from Spain, with global sports and business networks, further strengthens our growth trajectory. This partnership, combined with deep golf expertise, positions us to seize the opportunities presented by the digital transformation of the golf industry.”
In Spain, the Golf GameBook team is led by Ignacio Bernaldo de Quiros and also includes professional golfers Pedro Oriol and Juan Salama. The team brings their experience and knowledge of the industry and golf, positioning Golf GameBook as a benchmark not only in technological innovation, but also in its ability to connect with the golfing community.
