Friday night’s football has us looking for value in the Bundesliga, La Liga, Ligue Un and Serie A fixtures.
European Football tipster, Paddy Murphy, has gone in search of value and dug up four value picks for an Acca. Let’s get into it.
7:30pm St Pauli v Holstein Kiel – Both teams to score, yes
7:45pm Reims v Lens – Both teams to score & over 2.5 goals
7:45pm Cagliari v Verona – Over 2.5 goals
8pm Mallorca v Valencia – Over 0.5 Valencia goals
Bundesliga match at the Millerntor-Stadion, Hamburg
TV: Sky Sports+, 7:30pm
It’s been a tough return to the top flight for both St Pauli and Holstein Kiel. Since being promoted, the respective winners and runner-ups of last season’s Bundesliga 2 have only won three of their combined 22 top tier games.
This is a game where both sides have to go for it, as they cannot afford to lose more ground on the teams above them. The hosts have been struggling for goals all season, but Kiel has only kept one clean sheet all season, so the Kiezkickers will be confident of getting at least one.
The same goes for the away side; while they’ve been conceding, they’ve scored a respectable eight goals over their five away league games so far, so both should be rattling the net here.
Ligue Un match at the Stade Auguste-Delaune, Reims
TV: Ligue1 Pass, 7:45pm
Results have not been great for either side lately. Indeed, there have been just three wins over their last 10 combined Ligue Un fixtures. Reims on home soil are decent, though. They’ve won two, drawn two, and lost one over their last five at the Stade Auguste-Delaune, scoring nine and conceding eight.
It must be noted that Lens have proven difficult to beat on the road. They’ve won one, drawn three, and lost one over their last five away league encounters, scoring six and conceding five.
The market is favouring the away side here, but we reckon we should see both teams scoring and at least a third goal too.
Serie A match at the Unipol Domus, Cagliari
TV: OneFootball, 7:45pm
Although the results haven’t been good for both sides here, they have been among the goals lately. Cagliari have scored six over their last three goals, while Verona have scored four over their last three.
The hosts have won three, drawn one, and lost three over their last five on home soil in the Serie A, scoring six and conceding 13. The away side have lost all five of their most recent away league fixtures, scoring five, and conceding 15. With both teams scoring and conceding plenty of late, we should see at least three goals being scored.
La Liga match at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix, Palma de Mallorca
TV: Premier Player, LaLigaTV, 8pm
The market is favouring the hosts here but the stats indicate we can grab some value in backing a Valencia goal here. The away side have scored eight goals over their last four games in all competitions and seven over their last three in La Liga.
Mallorca have conceded four over their last three in La Liga as well, so there’s a decent price here to back the away side to get at least one goal.
St Pauli v Holstein Kiel – Both teams to score, yes
