Former Italian football captain, Fabio Cannavaro has confirmed that he turned down an offer to manage the Nigeria national team.
Cannavaro, who had been linked to the role, revealed that discussions with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) did not progress.
The NFF had also announced German coach Bruno Labbadia as a potential candidate, but he later distanced himself from the position.
Cannavaro explained his decision, stating, “I had offers from Nigeria [national team] and Iranian clubs, but I want to wait for Serie A and European clubs until December. After that, I may start travelling again.”
