The Spanish league never disappoints in producing some of the most exciting and season defining results with the top four sides all going all in for the Laliga title. However, the most interesting result of matchday 18 has to be Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona, where Diego Simeone’s men managed to edge past the home side in the very last minute of the game, winning it 2-1.
This result meant that Atletico now lead the table while Barcelona slipped to third after Real Madrid managed to beat Sevilla 4-2. Aralanta managed to stay at the top of the table, just! As they were given a massive scare by Empoli when the game ended 3-2 in favour of Gian Piere Gasperini’s side. Napoli also made sure that they edge past Genoa 2-1, to make it an interesting battle at the top of the table. Third placed Inter managed to keep up the pace with Napoli as they are now breathing down Antonio Conte’s side’s neck after a 2-0 win against Como.
Fiorentina took a damaging hit against Udinese, when they lost 2-1 as Juventus managed to level their points with the Fiorentina after beating Monza 2-1, which also sealed Alessandro Nesta’s sacking by the bottom side Monza. Roma thrashed Parma 5-0 while Milan scored the only goal of the match to get all the three points against Verona.
Lazio also managed to edge past Lecce, winning the game 2-1, while relegation threatened side Venezia took a massive boost after beating Cagliari to register their third win of the season, which also meant now they have five points from their previous three games.

The German football fans were in for a treat in their 15th matchday of this season, as it was the table toppers Bayern Munich who welcomed RB Leipzig at Allianz Arena for a thrilling clash. A rather one sided game where Vincent Kompany’s side showed no mercy on the visitors as they completely battered Leipzig 5-1 to stay at the top of the league. Second placed Leverkusen fans also enjoyed a similar scoreline this weekend when Xabi Alonso’s side thrashed Freiburg 5-1, where Patrick Schick was the star of the shiw with four goals in that match.
Third placed Frankfurt took a damaging hit against Mainz, who are now considered to be the giant slayers, after their 2-1 win against Bayern in the 14th matchday and following it up with a 3-1 win against Frankfurt this weekend. They currently sit just out of the top four at fifth with 25 points. Dortmund also managed to win comfortably against Wolfsburg with a 3-1 scoreline to comtinue their hunt for a Champions League spot this season.
Both the bottom clubs Bochum and Holstein Kiel managed to win their fixtures while Heidenheim continued their losing streak to seven, as they were beaten by Bochum, 2-0.
