Plans by the Netherlands’ right-wing government to cut university budgets, and limit internationalisation, could damage the consensus needed across the EU to bolster investment in research and student mobility, sector leaders have warned.
The new Dutch government—in which Geert Wilders’ anti-immigration, far-right PVV is the largest party—was finally sworn in last month after a coalition agreement was reached.
