Athens, Greece — Eight Bluejays finished in double figures, led by 24 from newcomer Brooke Littrell, as Creighton Women’s Basketball closed its three-game European Tour with a 130-61 win over the Greek All-Star squad on Sunday, August 11.
Creighton came out firing on all cylinders as the Bluejays blasted off to a 20-2 edge, leading 39-16 at the end of the opening frame. The second quarter saw the squad lock down on defense taking the stanza 34-4 to build a 73-20 edge at halftime.
The second half was more competitive, yet Creighton held a 57-41 edge.
Littrell’s 24 points led all scorers, while Morgan Maly delivered a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Lauren Jensen, Molly Mogensen and Kennedy Townsend all closed the game with 15 points, while Jayme Horan delivered 11 points. The remaining two in double figures were Mallory Brake and Liz Gentry with 10 points.
After one final day in Greece on Monday, August 12, the Bluejays return home in time for the fall semester to begin on Tuesday, August 20.
