The 2024 CrossFit Europe Semifinal took place on May 17-19 at the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Décines. It was one of two competitions that occurred on the first week of the 2024 CrossFit Semifinals and it definitely fulfilled the expectations. In the end, Lazar Đukić and Laura Horvath came out victorious.
Featuring one of the strongest rosters out of the entire 2024 CrossFit Semifinals stage, the 2024 CrossFit Europe Semifinal featured a significant number of qualifying spots for the CrossFit Games. Specifically, the top 10 men and women, respectively, as well as the top 8 Teams, qualified for the Games.
The battle for the win in the men’s division came down to two athletes, Lazar Đukić and Jelle Hoste. So, the winner was decided at the final event, and that turned out to be Lazar. His overall point tally came out to 437 points, which was just 18 points higher than that of Jelle Hoste.
Laura Horvath opened up her performance with a seventh place finish in the first event. However, that turned out to be her lowest overall placing, as she finished in the top three on all other events. So, she finished in first place fairly comfortably.
Gabriela Migala put a lot of pressure on Laura Horvath, mostly battling for the top spot in each event. Unfortunately, she placed 10th on the final event of the 2024 CrossFit Europe Semifinal, which set her back a few points. Consequently, she finished in second place, which was still immensely impressive.
Two teams from Sweden stood out at the 2024 CrossFit Europe Semifinal, as they were the only ones to reach or exceed a 400-point tally. However, CrossFit Prestanda Kriger was the more dominant one out of the two, as they never placed lower than 6th in any of the events.
