Zaragoza, Spain, has been selected as the host city for the EuroLeague Women Final Six basketball finals for the next three years, marking a significant milestone for European women’s basketball. The competition, which showcases the top 16 teams from across Europe, will be held at the Pabellón Príncipe Felipe through the 2026-27 season.

This agreement, a collaboration between FIBA Europe and host club Casademont Zaragoza, cements Zaragoza’s place in the spotlight as the first-ever host city for the newly formatted Final Six. The event is seen as a key step in growing the competition’s profile and providing a platform for some of the best female basketball players in the world.

Leaders from FIBA Europe highlighted the city’s strong basketball culture and its dedicated fan base as pivotal factors in awarding Zaragoza the hosting rights. Jorge Garbajosa, President of FIBA Europe, emphasised the long-term vision and collaboration that made the deal possible, while Kamil Novak, FIBA Executive Director Europe, described the agreement as vital for building a stable foundation for the league’s growth.

The inaugural Final Six, set for April 9-13, 2025, will see four teams directly qualify through the Second Round of the Regular Season, with two additional spots determined via the Play-Ins. Casademont Zaragoza, the host club, has already established itself as a rising force in European basketball, having reached the Quarter-Finals in its EuroLeague Women debut during the 2023-24 season. The club’s organisational excellence was recognised with the EuroLeague Women Club Excellence Award.

The decision to base the competition in Zaragoza signals FIBA’s commitment to enhancing EuroLeague Women’s profile while leveraging the city’s infrastructure and enthusiastic support for the sport.
