England are through to the semi-finals of Euro 2024 – but will they finally end their long wait for silverware this summer?
The Three Lions topped Group C by beating Serbia before draws against Denmark and Slovenia.
Gareth Southgate’s young side were underwhelming in the group stage but still secured top spot to qualify on the ‘easier’ side of the draw.
England faced Slovakia in the last-16 and made extremely hard work of it before getting through.
They trailed in Gelsenkirchen for most of the match before Jude Bellingham’s stunning 95th-minute overhead kick forced extra-time and captain Harry Kane then headed home the winner.
In the quarter-finals, the Three Lions were taken to penalties by Switzerland but they stepped up and scored all five of their spot kicks to book a place in the final four.

Gareth Southgate labelled England’s win over Switzerland their best performance of Euro 2024 as they booked a place in the semis.
He said: “I thought the players were brilliant, it is the best we have played.
“To come from behind and show character and resilience we did… it isn’t just about playing well.
“It was so brave from Bukayo, he is one of our best and we were never in question he would take one. But we all knew what he went through.
“Huge performance, huge result and we are still in it. We had to be tactically spot on.
“We are in a third semi-final and it says a lot about the whole group. I thought we had good control.”
