Ever since its founding in 1990, Belgium-based DESOTEC has been on a mission build a cleaner, greener world for all. Its founders developed unique, sustainable, mobile filtration solutions that purify both liquids and gases in production or waste streams, all with a commitment to protecting the planet and driving positive ecological change across industries.
With an entrepreneurial spirit, the team set its sights across the Atlantic in 2023. But expanding into a new country can be a difficult process to navigate.
“The consequence for not doing things correct from the start can be quite large,” says Nicola Bain, Director of Global Services at CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen), the eighth largest accounting and professional services firm in the United States. “Whether it’s penalties, fines, or even lost business revenue because you didn’t have the right insurance policies in place or anything like that.”
DESOTEC realized this early on and worked closely with the team at CLA to manage their expansion into the U.S. and set them up for success. “We’re building, we’re hiring fast, we’re acquiring new customers, and we’re investing a lot of capital into the organization,” says Mathias Meersseman, CEO of DESOTEC North America. “We’re lucky to have someone like CLA help us with that acceleration.”
