Laundryheap, the world’s largest on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning platform, acquired Latin America (LATAM) market leader GetLavado.
Starting today, Laundryheap’s services will be available in Lima, Peru, with plans to expand into cities in Colombia and Mexico later this year.
This marks Laundryheap’s fifth acquisition since 2022. Last year, it acquired French competitors Lavoir Moderne and Wast, as well as took over consumer operations of UK provider Oxwash. In April 2022, Laundryheap acquired UK competitor Laundrapp.
Laundryheap is the world’s biggest provider of on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning services and has seen 5x revenue growth since its last Series A funding round. With the acquisition of Getlavado, Laundryheap is now operating in 14 international markets, including the UK, US, Europe, Asia, the UAE, and, now, Latin America.
Founded in 2014, Laundryheap offers a range of services to B2C customers, including 24-hour turnaround door-to-door services for laundry and dry cleaning. They also work with B2B partners across the hospitality, tourism and service industries including Accor (Novotel & Ibis), Rituals, Chanel, Altido, UnderTheDoormat, Emirates & Qatar Airways.
GetLavado was founded in 2017 by Martin Beas Núñez. As part of this acquisition, all current GetLavado staff, including Beas Núñez, will join the Laundryheap team and help to continue driving growth in the region. Laundryheap plans to hire additional local staff in the coming months to further strengthen its presence in LATAM.
In the coming weeks, the GetLavado brand will transition to Laundryheap. Existing GetLavado customers will be able to access on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning services via the Laundryheap platform. Customers in Lima will be able to place orders through Laundryheap’s award-winning app and website, replacing the previous WhatsApp-based booking system.
Deyan Dimitrov, CEO and Founder of Laundryheap, commented: “We’re thrilled to be expanding into Latin America with the acquisition of GetLavado. The GetLavado team has established a strong business with a loyal customer base in the region for on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning. Laundryheap looks forward to building on this success, increasing our consumer presence, and collaborating with businesses across Latin America.”
Martin Beas Nuñez, Founder of GetLavado, said: “Since day one, our goal has been to become the largest online laundry service in Latin America. With this acquisition, we are achieving that vision. Our customers will benefit from enhanced user experiences, including 24-hour pickups and deliveries, now streamlined with Laundryheap’s expertise and technology.
“Latin America represents a tremendous opportunity for growth and innovation in the laundry sector. Our team has shown exceptional resilience and focus, key qualities that have driven our success. We are excited to combine our local insights with Laundryheap’s global strategy to offer world-class service across the continent.”
