World Cup winner Spain will play Italy, Belgium and Portugal in the group stage of the Women’s Euro 2025 tournament as the draw was made in Lausanne on Monday.
Reigning European champion and 2023 World Cup runner-up England was drawn alongside France, the Netherlands and Wales, which will be making its major finals debut.
In the 2022 edition, England triumphed over Germany in the final with a 2-1 win. Ella Toone and Chloe Kelly had scored for the Three Lionesses to help the side lift its first major trophy.
The 2025 edition will be played in Switzerland between July 2 and 27. This will be the first time the country will be hosting the tournament. The host is placed in Group A alongside Norway, Iceland, and Finland.
Moreover, players participating in the Women’s Euro 2025 will receive a percentage of the prize money for the first time.
