Many are already looking forward to brighter days and planning sun-drenched getaways for when summer finally arrives.
TravelSupermarket HQ has revealed their list of the 10 cheapest destinations when it comes to a seven-night, all-inclusive family getaway for the summer of 2025.
According to the list, the top 10 European spots include Hammamet in Tunisia for a getaway costing £588, Sousse in Tunisia for £603, Marrakesh in Morocco for £608, Bourgas Area in Bulgaria for £683, Costa Dorada in Spain for £687, Dalaman Area in Turkey for £718, Mallorca in Spain for £736, Bodrum Area, Turkey for £753 and Malta for £761.
The number one spot offering the most cost-effective getaway went, according to the experts, to Alanya in Turkey, offering a seven-day, all-inclusive family break at only £581.
The Turkish spot is a beach resort city, a municipality and district of Antalya Province.
This south Turkish haven offers everything you need from a sunny break, including crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches and historic sites to boot.
This charming city offers bucket loads of natural beauty, friendly locals and a lively culture.
In fact, when the sun sets in this seaside region Alanya’s downtown area even resembles “Vegas by the Sea”, according to the Lonely Planet.
Alanya’s beaches are one of a kind thanks to the Mediterranean Sea gracing their sands and the Taurus Mountains serving as a perfect backdrop.
One such beach that draws in the crowds is Cleopatra Beach, which is believed to have been named after the ancient Egyptian queen herself who is said to have graced her presence here enjoying the soft, golden sand and clear water.
Alanya’s Taurus Mountains offer a different kind of beauty compared to the region’s calm sea.
Here, you can enjoy a host of exhilarating activities including hiking, off-roading, waterfall-exploring or simply taking in the majestic views.
Must-visit sites here include Alanya Archaeological Museum, Ehmedek and Alanya Castle, found perched on the region’s rocky peninsula.
For the real thrill-seekers, Alanya offers activities such as paragliding, ziplining, rafting, quad bikes and jeep tours.
After all the thrill and excitement, there’s no better way to toast to the day watching the sun set over this stunning spot and enjoying Alanya’s local delicacies such as a millet soup known as Yarpuzlu Akdari Chorbasy or a flatbread cooked on an iron stove called sepit.
“Amazing place with breathtaking views,” read one review on TripAdvisor.
Another added: “The best place on the Mediterranean Sea if you like heat, hot sea, beautiful beaches and exotic climate.”
