August is the peak season for Brits to take a summer holiday and escape everyday life.
Most people would hate the idea of bumping into someone they know while they’re away, but a new study by Jackpotjoy has revealed which holiday destinations where it’s most likely.
You might be going on holiday to escape your nosey neighbour or have a break from the boss from hell. But what if you find yourself in the same hotel as them?
Research has revealed that you are most likely to see fellow Brits when visiting Mainland Greece and the Greek islands, with a 10.46 percent chance of bumping into someone you know.
Greece and the Greek islands are the number one International holiday destination with 31 percent of Brits planning to holiday there in 2024.
Another study by Legal & General found the most popular destinations for 2024 to be Spain, Italy, France and Portugal. It also found that 42 percent of Brits are looking for a beach holiday followed by 17 percent wanting a multi-destination trip.
For those planning a staycation in the UK, the study also showed where you’re most likely to see someone on home turf. This year, five of the top 10 most popular destinations for Brits are in the UK.
London is the number one spot Brits plan to travel to with 43.5 percent of people heading to the capital. Unsurprisingly, the well-loved coast of Cornwall also makes the top five.
