Despite its reputation as a rather exclusive holiday destination, Tuscany is among the surprisingly cheap package destinations still available for summer 2025.
Holidays, especially those during school summer holidays, can sometimes cost a small fortune, but if picking the right location for your family getaway could actually save you some money.
Which? researchers have analysed almost 6,000 package holidays that are still currently available to book for the first week of August, to find the cheapest destinations for a European resort holiday.
The consumer outlet checked both all-inclusive packages and standard package breaks – in the latter case looking at a mix of packages from room only/self-catering through to B&B and half-board.
For those looking for a self-catering or half-board getaway, Which? found some surprising options that are still available.
Popular budget beach destinations like Turkey, Morocco, and Bulgaria were at the top of the list, but researchers were rather surprised to find that Tuscany was 8th on the list.
Although typically considered a rather expensive and luxury destination, prices for a stay in Tuscany are currently lower than expected with plenty of package holidays available, with accommodation in off in the beautiful coastal towns and in the Florence.
Those planning to holiday in Tuscany could pick between a relaxing beach getaway visiting places such as Spiaggia Di Sansone, Cala Violina Scarlino, and Procchio Beach, or they could opt for a countryside retreat and make the most of the region’s beautiful landscapes and rich history.
Another option is the always-popular city break, with Florence and Pisa being the most famous destinations for this. Other options include Siena, Lucca, Arezzo and Pistoia.
Which? have also researched the cheapest locations for all-inclusive breaks this summer, although Tuscany, nor anywhere else in Italy made this list.
