Spain (ESP) will take on England (ENG) in the UEFA Euro 2024 final at the Olympiastadion (Olympic Stadium) in Berlin, Germany on Monday.
The Spain vs England Euro 2024 football final starts at 12:30 AM Indian Standard Time (IST) and will be live streamed and telecast in India.
UEFA Euro 2024 is the 17th edition of the European football championship. Spain have won the tournament thrice, making them the joint-most successful team in the competition with Germany. England, on the other hand, are yet to lift the trophy.
England, who were defeated on penalties by Italy at the Wembley Stadium in the Euro 2020 title decider, will be appearing in successive finals. The Three Lions will also be playing their first major tournament final away from home.
Coached by Luis de la Fuente, Spain’s road to the UEFA Euro 2024 final included victories against Georgia (4-1) in the round of 16 and hosts Germany (2-1) in the quarter-finals.
La Roja then upstaged 2018 FIFA World Cup winners France 2-1 in the semi-finals with 16-year-old Lamine Yamal headlining a brilliant performance.
England, who were on the other side of the knockout draw, defeated Slovakia 2-1 in the round of 16 after extra time while beating Switzerland 1-1 (5-3) after penalties in the quarter-finals. Gareth Southgate’s team beat the Netherlands in the semi-finals, courtesy of a 90th-minute goal by substitute Ollie Watkins.
Spain’s Dani Olmo and England’s Harry Kane, meanwhile, will continue their Golden Boot challenge at the Olympiastadion. Both are currently tied at three goals this edition. Midfielders Fabian Ruiz (Spain) and Jude Bellingham (England) are also in the running, having scored two goals each.
Since their first meeting in 1929, Spain and England have gone head-to-head 27 times. The UEFA Euro 2024 final on Sunday will be their latest since October 2018, when the Three Lions secured victory by a 3-2 scoreline in the UEFA Nations League.
England have had the upper hand against La Roja with 14 wins while Spain have registered 10 victories. Three draws have been contested.
At the Euros, the English side is unbeaten against Spain with three wins and one penalty shootout triumph from four matches.
