Center Boban Marjanovic has reached an agreement with the EuroLeague team Fenerbahce after spending the past nine seasons in the NBA, sources confirmed to ESPN.
Marjanovic’s deal was first reported by Eurohoops.net. The contract includes an opt out if he gets an opportunity to return to the NBA, a source said.
The 7-foot-4 Marjanovic played for six teams in his nine NBA seasons, including the last two for the Houston Rockets. He had career averages of 5.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
Marjanovic, 36, a native of Serbia, became a beloved figure because of his gregarious personality. He was featured in multiple national advertising campaigns, a rarity for a reserve player.
Marjanovic played professionally for several years in Europe before beginning his NBA career with the San Antonio Spurs in 2015.
