Serbia qualified for the European Championship, BiH convincingly defeated Croatia

The Serbian national basketball team qualified for the 2025 European Championship tonight, after beating Denmark 98:51 (25:17, 25:11, 20:11, 28:12) in Belgrade in the qualifying game of the fourth round of Group G.

The coach of Serbia, Svetislav Pešić, gave the opportunity to all players and they all signed up. The most effective was Aleksa Avramović with 18 points with eight assists, Boriša Simanić scored 12 points, Marko Gudurić 11 points with five assists, and Filip Petrushev 10 points.

Partizan’s basketball player Ifa Lundberg was the most effective in the Danish team with 15 points with six rebounds and six assists. Darko Jukić and Tobias Jenses each added nine points, and Kevin Larsen eight points.

With four wins from four games in Group G, Serbia qualified for the European Championship, which will be held next year in Finland, Poland, Latvia and Cyprus.

Denmark is in last place with a win and three losses.

In that group, Georgia beat Finland 81:64 tonight at home, so now they have two wins and two losses each. Finland has a win and three losses.

And an important victory was achieved by Bosnia and Herzegovina, which in Sarajevo convincingly defeated Croatia (110:90) in Group E. At halftime it was tied (50:50), and then in the third quarter BiH made a 16:0 run, took the lead 66:50 and kept the lead until the end.

Bosnia and Herzegovina made up for minus 13 from the first match, which was played on Friday in Zagreb, so in the mutual score they are better than Croatia. From group E, two national teams go to the European Championship, since Cyprus is also in the group, which is one of the organizers of the championship.

Croatia only once received more than 110 points in one match – it was in 1992 from the USA in the final of the Olympic Games in Barcelona.

With BiH, Kenan Kamenjaš was the most effective with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Džanan Musa had 19, and Amar Alibegović and Aleksandar Lazić each had 18 points.

In the Croatian national team, Mario Hezonja was the most effective with 28 points.

France is in first place in Group E with all four victories, Bosnia and Herzegovina is second (2-2), Croatia is third (2-2), and Cyprus is fourth (0-4).

Tonight, Lithuania qualified for the European Championship with a 94:72 win at home against North Macedonia.
