Argentine player Alma Bourgarel joins the Estepona Basketball Club Jardín team as it continues its strategy of betting on young talent.
Bourgarel arrives at the Estepona Primera Nacional team for her first professional experience within a European team but with a solid base of experience acquired in her native country, Argentina.
At only 18 years old and 1.70 meters tall, Alma is in her first year as a senior player.
Before arriving in Spain, the young player played in the Argentine Apertura Tournament with Obras Sanitarias, one of the most prestigious clubs in Argentina.
In this tournament, Bourgarel demonstrated ability on the court, with 10 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
The Argentine player, who also has a Spanish passport, does, however, have experience of playing in Spain at an international level. In 2022, when she was just 15 years old, she was part of both the Sudamericano and the Americup U18.
The player, who for the last two years was part of the Basketball Without Borders program organised by the NBA, was named the best defender in 2023.
Alma Bourgarel further strengthens the Estepona Basketball Club squad in the Primera Nacional, not only contributing her great defensive ability, but also her skills in the offensive game, which she has already demonstrated in her short professional career.
