American contract logistics provider GXO Logistics has successfully deployed a large-scale robotics solution for an unnamed sporting goods retailer in France.
The robotics system will expedite order processing, bolster agility in responding to seasonal volume fluctuations and deliver significant efficiency savings.
GXO Logistics has deployed 500 autonomous mobile robots that can manage 70,000 bins across the 5.5m-tall storage racks at the retailer’s sites.
The solution implementation across more than 12,000m² of sites is part of GXO’s complete transformation of its regional omnichannel supply chain.
GXO stated that its robots enhance productivity, accuracy, and safety.
Their lightweight and easily transportable nature gives GXO the flexibility to swiftly relocate them within the warehouse or to other sites in response to seasonal demands.
