MUNICH (Germany) – The seeds for the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 draw have now been announced, following the latest update of the FIBA World Ranking Men, presented by NIKE.
The 24 team field for the 42nd edition of Europe’s flagship competition was confirmed following the conclusion of the Qualifiers, which were played across three qualifying windows in February 2024, November 2024 and February 2025.
The seedings for the draw are as follows:
Seed 1: Serbia, Germany, France, Spain
Seed 2: Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Greece
Seed 3: Italy, Montenegro, Poland, Czechia
Seed 4: Finland, Georgia, Türkiye, Israel
Seed 5: Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Great Britain
Seed 6: Sweden, Iceland, Portugal, Cyprus
The top seeded teams consist of world number two ranked Serbia, FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 champions Germany, 2024 Olympic Games runners-up France and reigning FIBA EuroBasket winners Spain.
Tournament co-hosts Cyprus will be making their first-ever appearance at the event, with four more countries – Latvia, Iceland, Portugal and Sweden – marking their EuroBasket returns.
Teams will learn their opponents on Thursday, March 27 in Riga, Latvia, when the field of 24 national teams will be split into four groups of six teams each.
The draw, which will take place at the Riga Circus at 14:00 CET, will be livestreamed on the official FIBA YouTube channel.
FIBA EuroBasket 2025 will take place from August 27 – September 14, with the Group Phase hosted in the cities of Limassol, Cyprus; Tampere, Finland; Katowice, Poland and Riga, Latvia.
The Final Phase of the event will also be played in the Latvian capital Riga.
