Here is your round-up of Saturday’s European football from the top leagues on the continent.
Bayern Munich were left frustrated after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena. Robert Andrich scored from range to give the visitors a first-half lead, but it didn’t last long as Aleksandar Pavlovic fired a stunning strike into the net for the equaliser soon after. Harry Kane was subbed off late on with an injury, making him a doubt for their Champions League clash with Aston Villa next week. Vincent Kompany’s side remain top of the standings despite dropping points for the first time this season.
Elsewhere in Germany, Leipzig ran out comfortable 4-0 winners against Augsburg at home to leapfrog Leverkusen into second in the table. Wolfsburg drew 2-2 with Stuttgart, while St Pauli picked up their first win since promotion by beating Freiburg 3-0 on the road.
On Friday, Borussia Dortmund bounced back from last week’s 5-1 hammering by Stuttgart to beat strugglers Bochum 4-2 at home.
There was a shock in Spain’s top tier on Saturday evening as La Liga leaders Barcelona lost their unbeaten record.
Hansi Flick’s team boasted a perfect record of seven wins from seven games heading into the weekend’s action but lost for the first time in La Liga this season, 4-2 at Osasuna.
Elsewhere, Real Sociedad got their campaign back on track by beating Valencia 3-0 in San Sebastian. The Basque outfit had gone six games without a win in all competitions.
Getafe defeated Deportivo Alaves 2-0 at home, while Rayo Vallecano drew 1-1 with Leganes.
In Serie A, Inter Milan came out on top of a five-goal thriller, beating Udinese 3-2 away to recover from last week’s derby defeat. David Frattesi opened the scoring inside the first minute before former Watford defender Christian Kabasele equalised. Lautaro Martinez scored either side of the interval to give the travelling team a two-goal lead, although Lorenzo Lucca’s late goal ensured a nervy finish.
Dusan Vlahovic scored a second-half brace to help Juventus beat Genoa 3-0 away, with Francisco Conceição chipping in late on. Bologna and Atalanta drew 1-1 with the visitors scoring a 90th-minute leveller through Lazar Samardzic.
In Ligue 1, Lille beat Le Havre 3-0 on the road while Lens and Nice played out a goalless draw. Monaco left it late to win against Montpellier in the late fixture as Lamine Camara’s 98th-minute goal snatched the points for the principality club.
