Nearly 18 million UK tourists admit to wanting to visit a famous TV location, with three beautiful European locations taking some of the top spots.
This is according to Virgin Media, which has created an interactive map of Europe to help Brits find iconic TV locations.
The research was conducted by Censuswide with 2,015 UK Respondents aged 16 and over.
Of the 16 destinations listed, only four featured are from the UK, so it’s no surprise that nearly one in four (24 percent) TV fans have booked a trip to a European destination outside the UK.
The top filming location on the list is just 2.5 hours from the UK.
Game of Thrones was the top filming location for tourists to visit, with the show being filmed in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
Fans of the show can even go on a walking tour to follow in the show’s footsteps. Tickets for the tour are available on TripAdvisor and cost £22 per person.
As part of the tour, travellers can visit some of the city’s ‘most important and scenic filming locations’, including Lovrijenac Fort to Pile Gate.
A tour guide will share some behind-the-scenes stories, with some of them having been extras on the show.
