BBC Sport has agreed a new multi-year deal to broadcast the European Athletics Championships up to and including 2027.
The deal begins with this month’s event in Rome, from 7-12 June, as athletes prepare for the Olympic Games in Paris.
It will also include the 2026 European Championships in Birmingham, the 2025 and 2027 European Indoor Championships and the European Cross Country Championships from 2024 to 2027.
Philip Bernie, interim director of BBC Sport, said: “Adding the European Athletics Championships to our athletics portfolio is great news for audiences, who get to watch the best athletes in the world regularly on the BBC.”
World heptathlon champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson and European 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson will represent Great Britain in Rome, alongside four-time European gold medallist sprinter Dina Asher-Smith and world indoor pole vault champion Molly Caudery.
World 100m bronze medallist Zharnel Hughes and European 400m record holder Matthew Hudson-Smith have withdrawn from the competition.
The event will be available on BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and app.
