Basketball fans can now start making plans for the upcoming EuroLeague season. The organisers announced the regular season schedule this Monday, with a number of key points for coach Joan Peñarroya and everyone else to bear in mind:
- The competition begins on October 3 in Lithuania against Zalgiris Kaunas.
- Barça will play most home fixtures at 8.30pm local time.
- The first games at the Palau are against Alba Berlin and Monaco (October 11 & 16).
- The Clásico against Real Madrid will be on Friday 29 November, the same weekend as the club’s 125th anniversary celebrations. The game in Madrid is on February 27.
- There will be a Christmas game at the Palau on December 27 against Red Star.
- The first game of 2025 will be on January 3 away to Paris Basketball. The EuroLeague rookies will be coming to the Palau for the first time on November 15.
- There are eight weeks with back-to-back games (two at the Palau, two on the road, and four with a combination of home and away games).
- The regular season ends on Friday 11 April at home to Virtus Segafredo Bologna. If all goes well, then Barça will follow that with the playoffs and then, hopefully, the Final Four at a venue yet to be decided.
