European Championship 2024, also known as Euro 2024, is all set to kickstart in a fortnight. The 17th edition of the tournament will see 24 teams – divided into six groups – battling it out to emerge as the Europe champion.
Host country Germany will take on Scotland in their Group A opening match on June 14. This will be the first time for Germany to host the cup after their unification. In 1988, West Germany hosted the tournament. Meanwhile, defending champion Italy is said to be in the toughest group, B, where former champion Spain World ranked 10 Croatia, and Albania are also there. From French forward Kylian Mbappe to English midfielder Jude Bellingham and Portuguese legend Christiano Ronaldo – the tournament will offer a galaxy of global football stars.
The month-long tournament will take place in 10 German cities, including Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich, and Stuttgart. The opening match between Germany and Scotland will take place at Munich’s Allianz Arena, which is the home stadium of Bayern Munich. The final will take place at Berlin’s Olympiastadion.
In India, the month-long tournament will be available to watch on TV on Sony Sports Network. On the other hand, the matches will be live streamed on SonyLiv and one can watch it on OTTplay Premium.
