The Euro 2024 play-offs have reached their final stage, with six teams – including Wales – battling for three places in Germany this summer. Here’s all you need to know…
In Path A, Wales will host Poland in the final, after Rob Page’s side beat Finland 4-1 and the Poles thrashed 10-player Estonia 5-1.
In Path B, Ukraine produced a stunning comeback win away to Bosnia-Herzegovina to set up a final with Iceland, who saw off 10-player Israel 4-1. That tie will be played in Poland, which is hosting Ukraine’s games due to Russia’s invasion of the country.
And in Path C, Georgia will be at home to Greece for a place at the Euros. They beat Luxembourg 2-0, while Greece hammered Kazakhstan 5-0.
All of the finals will be held on Tuesday March 26.
We will then know all 24 Euro 2024 participants, as well as the schedule for all group fixtures.
Wales will be in Group D at Euro 2024 if they can beat Poland. That would put them up against France, Netherlands and Austria.
The winner of play-off Path B – Ukraine or Iceland – will go into Group E, and face Belgium, Slovakia and Romania at the Euros.
And the winner of play-off Path C – Georgia or Greece – have been drawn to go into Group F, with Portugal, Turkey and Czech Republic.
Euro 2024 will take place from Friday June 14 to Sunday July 14.
Germany are the host nation and qualified automatically. West Germany hosted the tournament back in 1988 but this will be the first time Germany has staged the European Championship since reunification.
The four top-ranked sides from Leagues A, B and C in the Nations League that did not gain entry to Euro 2024 via qualifying entered the play-offs.
The best-ranked side in each path hosted the fourth-ranked side, while the second-ranked side hosted the third-ranked.
The host cities for the finals were decided via a draw.
If matches are level after 90 minutes, 30 minutes of extra time will be played, followed by penalties if necessary.
In total, 24 teams will take part in the tournament, with 21 of those teams known.
Three further teams with progress through the play-offs, with Wales hoping to join England and Scotland at the finals.
Group A – Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland
Group B – Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania
Group C – Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England
Group D – Wales or Poland, Netherlands, Austria, France
Group E – Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine or Iceland
