Former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag could be set for a swift return to elite club management as he’s reportedly among the candidates for the job at Serie A side Roma.
The Italian club are in disarray at the moment having dismissed Ivan Juric after a 3-2 home defeat by Bologna on Sunday. The Croatian’s exit follows the sacking of Daniele de Rossi earlier in the season, the latter who had only been in the post eight months after taking over from Jose Mourinho.
Roma sit 12th in the table and the club’s American owners, the Friedkins, are now searching for a third manager of the season and Ten Hag’s name has been linked.
Italian news outlet Il Messaggero claim that both the Dutchman and former Chelsea and Brighton manager Graham Potter are being considered by Roma.

Other names reportedly in the running including another former Chelsea boss in Frank Lampard, who has been out of work since leaving Everton in 2023, as well as Edin Terzic, who led Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League final last season.
Rudi Garcia, who had a stint in charge of Roma between 2013 and 2016 before going on to manage the likes of Marseille, Lyon and Napoli, has also been touted as a possible candidate.
The November international break is often viewed as a good window for managerial changes, as it allows new coaches the chance to bed in at the club and assess their squad.
It remains to be seen whether the Roma job would tempt Ten Hag, or indeed if the ex United head honcho is keen on such a quick return to the dugout, having received his marching orders from Old Trafford last month.
Ruud van Nistelrooy took over from Ten Hag on an interim basis and led United to three wins and a draw from his four games in charge. Ruben Amorim is now set to lead the club having moved from Sporting in Lisbon, with Van Nistelrooy having departed Old Trafford not long after his fellow countryman, Ten Hag.
