David Beckham … broadcaster?
The soccer superstar and Inter Miami owner will host alternative broadcasts for UEFA Champions League games on Paramount+, part of a what is described as a marketing partnership with CBS Sports.
Beckham announced the deal during an appearance on the UEFA Champions League Today studio show Tuesday.
The altcasts, Beckham & Friends, will see the soccer legend “joined by his friends from the worlds of sports, media and entertainment,” as they cover the UEFA Champions League Semifinal Leg 2 matches and the UEFA Champions League Final.
The deal covers altcasts that will run through 2026 on Paramount+. The broadcasts will be produced by CBS Sports in collaboration with UEFA Champions League, Authentic, and Relevent Sports, a firm which is described as “crucial” to developing the concept.
Paramount+ streams some 1,500 soccer matches every year, including UEFA Champions League, the NWSL, and Serie A. It also streams sports like the NFL, the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament, and The Masters.
