New Delhi: The war between Russia and Ukraine will complete three years in February next year. Vladimir Putin has been launching brutal attacks on Ukraine, while Ukrainian fighters have been delivering heavy blows to Russia in retaliation. According to the reports, Russia is now planning to attack another European country and allegedly found a pretext for the assault.
A report by Al Jazeera states that the Vladimir Putin-led Russian government has accused the European country Moldova of plotting a military operation in the Transnistria region. Experts suspect that Russia may soon take significant action.
In a sensational claim, Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday claimed that NATO is turning Moldova into a weapons hub for Ukraine. This accusation has raised further concerns that Moscow is looking for a pretext to launch potential military action against its small neighboring country.
Adrian Balutel, the Chief of Staff to President Sandu, has denied Russia’s claims and stated that there are no plans to militarily enter Transnistria, although he considers the region to be part of Moldova. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said Moscow believes these weapons were ultimately meant for Ukraine.
It is important to note that Putin has been consistently indicating that not only Ukraine, but also other countries that help Moscow in the war against it, could potentially be considered enemies by the Kremlin, against whom it may launch attacks.
