New office in Ireland for Altea Insurance, here are the details on the new hub which will write business from across the EU zone.
Altea Insurance (Altea), the multi-class, multi-year Managing General Agent specialising in the healthcare and medical sectors, announced it has opened its doors to write business across the European Economic Area (EEA).
Led from its hub in Ireland, Altea will now deliver bespoke combined insurance and risk management solutions for healthcare professionals and organisations throughout the EEA. AlteaPlus, the accompanying risk management platform, enhances these offerings by providing proactive risk management, claim prevention support, and medico-legal expertise tailored to the specific territory. With these pioneering services, Altea aims to set a new standard for healthcare risk management in Ireland and beyond.
With the establishment of its Ireland office, Altea also extends its unique offering across Europe, including France, Italy, Malta, Poland, and Spain. This expansion leverages targeted associations and local partnerships both in established medical malpractice markets and less traditional territories. Additionally, Altea is exploring emerging opportunities in the Nordics.
Carly Matson, CEO of Altea, said: “Against an increasingly complex risk environment, there is a growing demand for integrated insurance and risk mitigation services in Ireland and across the Continent. Altea integrates medical and legal expertise, offering a distinctive tiered risk management product suite to pre-emptively address exposures with a unified approach, avoiding siloed solutions. This marks a significant shift, allowing insureds to mitigate risks proactively.”
“Our approach is to build meaningful partnerships with our clients, simplifying the insurance procurement process through one point of contact. Our team has invested time in building relationships in Ireland alongside our existing connections, meeting with brokers and consulting experts in the field, ensuring we provide tailored solutions that meet the specific needs of the Irish market, which we will also be replicating across Europe, introducing the Altea concept.”
Altea is supported by Mission Underwriters UK & Europe and backed by long-term capacity via Accelerant.
