Albufeira aiming for “European City of Sports 2026”
The decision was taken at the extraordinary meeting of the Intermunicipal Council, held in Alcoutim.
The Intermunicipal Community recognises the importance that this candidacy represents for the entire region and for boosting sports practice, and the support expressed is also a way of recognising the investment that has been developed by the Municipality of Albufeira in the area of sport, whether in the implementation of infrastructure or in the creation of conditions to support athletes.
AMAL therefore hopes that this candidacy will be favourably received and that in 2026 Albufeira will be celebrated as the European City of Sports.
