Natalie Portman and Lena Dunham are teaming up for ‘Good Sex,’ a romantic comedy that has already generated a major excitement. The film, written and directed by Dunham, was at the center of an intense bidding war, ultimately selling for a staggering $55 million.
The deal became one of the most high-profile sales at the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin, despite the festival seeing a slower market overall. Finally, amidst a tough bid with many other suitors, Netflix has got the rights to stream the film and bagged it, according to a report in Deadline.
At the heart of ‘Good Sex’ is Ally, a 40-year-old couples therapist who has built her career helping others navigate their love lives. However, after emerging from a failed long-term relationship, she finds herself struggling with her own romantic dilemmas. Thrown back into New York’s fast-paced dating scene, Ally is caught between two vastly different relationships—one with an exciting younger man in his twenties, filled with passion and unpredictability, and another with an older, wealthy man in his fifties offering stability and security.
As she juggles these contrasting love interests Ally is forced to confront her own desires, fears and expectations, ultimately realizing that her indecision might cost her both relationships.
