The megastar of Bulgarian and European basketball Alexander Vezenkov was at the heart of his Olympiacos’ victory over the Italian giant Virtus (Bologna) with 87:77 points in a match from the 16th round of the Euroleague in men’s basketball, FOCUS reported.
The match was played at the Palace of Peace and Friendship in Piraeus.
Vezenkov became the most productive basketball player in the match, finishing with 27 points. He added 10 rebounds and 1 assist to his statistics in just over 28 minutes of play. Thus, he recorded a “double-double”.
The other star Evan Fournier added another 20 for the success.
For Virtus, Matt Morgan registered 15, and veteran Marco Belinelli scored 17 points.
With the success, Olympiacos stopped a series of 2 consecutive defeats in the tournament. The team is now 3rd in the standings with an asset of 10 wins and 6 losses. Virtus are second to last (17th) with a balance of 3-13.
