Performers include Teddy Swims, Shawn Mendes, Raye, Korean supergroup Le Sserafim and those Pet Shop Boys who receive the first-ever MTV EMA Pop Pioneers Award.
The show is set to feature a tribute to former One Direction star Liam Payne and will be broadcast live on MTV in over 150 countries.

Taylor Swift has the has the most nominations, seven of them, however it looks like she will be a bit of a no-show, having just been spotted at the Chiefs game in Kansas City to support her boyfriend, Big Trav.
She’s also got six shows in Toronto starting on Thursday, so it’s not a bad excuse.
We’ll keep you up to date with the MTV EMAs throughout the morning.
And there was a big turnout in Los Angeles, where the Wicked juggernaut rolls on for the second of five major global premieres.
The all-star cast, including Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and Jeff Goldblum, flew in from Sydney to be joined by Broadway originals Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel.
Also stepping out in style, Jennifer Lopez looked pretty fabulous, you’ve got to say.
She was accompanied by her hunky bodyguard, or maybe it’s her boyfriend, prompting many tongues to wag in Tinseltown.

Wicked: Part One is in cinemas on Thursday.
Finally, just when you thought you’d missed out on tickets to see the mighty Cold Chisel in concert on their Big Five-0 Tour, there are a couple of hundred tickets that have just gone on sale for each of the final two Sydney shows.
Those tickets are on sale now at Ticketek and will be gone within the hour, I suspect.
