Bulgarian competitor Slav Kirov won first place in the Boulder finals of the 2024 International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFCS) European Cup in Genoa, Italy, the federation said.
It was the last round of the season, which took place on October 5 and 6, Kirov performed well, finishing in 4th place in the qualification, 7th place in the semi-final and being only of only two competitors to reach the top in the final.
This season, Kirov also won a silver medal at the European Championships and a bronze at the U20 World Championships in the Boulder discipline.
The other two Bulgarian competitors in Genoa, Boyan Kirov and Matei Mitsev, were in 48th place and 55th place respectively, and in the men’s national ranking Bulgaria was in fifth place out of 23 countries.
