Bayern Munich has been linked to Chelsea FC attacker Mykhaylo Mudryk several times in the past, but now — given the London team’s laughably big squad — there could be an opportunity for the Bavarians to grab a player on a bargain deal (depending on how much Chelsea wants to unload the Ukrainian):
Bayern Munich have been mentioned alongside Marseille in pursuit of Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Despite being with the Blues for nearly two years, the Ukraine international has failed to live up to his £88.5 million price tag.
Starting just 19 Premier League games since the beginning of last season, Mudryk, despite the club going through several managers in the same period, has fallen down Chelsea’s pecking order.
The Blues’ recent capture of Jadon Sancho has forced the 23-year-old even further out of favour, and now, according to a recent report from Fichajes, could leave Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.
Roberto De Zerbi; a manager who has previously spoken highly of the Ukraine winger, is interested in bringing him to Marseille.
However, Bayern Munich are also credited with having an interest. The Bavarians recently signed Michael Olise from Crystal Palace but also have Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman among their options, so finding a place for Mudryk would be difficult.
This is not the first time that Bayern Munich has been linked to Mudryk and Chelsea does — desperately — need to sell some players. Could the Bavarians be lined up to try and get a value buy in January or next summer by plucking Mudryk out of London?
Liverpool FC is one of the club’s who could be seeking to steal Jamal Musiala away from Bayern Munich:
A report from Football Insider also claims Liverpool are considering a move to sign Bayern Munich star Musiala.
Manchester City are in ‘pole position’ to sign Musiala as they look to replace Kevin De Bruyne, who has entered the final year of his contract and is being linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
Despite this, Liverpool are ‘in the race’ for Musiala. The report says.
Musiala’s contract situation is going to be one of those most interesting storylines to follow in the coming months.
Bayern Munich has had a busy week — and so have we!
Let’s get right down to it and lay out what we have in store for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:
German outlet kicker is reporting that some Bayern Munich players are getting irked by Vincent Kompany’s lack of communication.
At the crux of the situation is the lineup and game day squad being revealed over WhatsApp:
kicker reports that several Bayern Munich players are becoming irritated by Vincent Kompany’s lack of communication when it comes to the squad.
The players primarily annoyed are those lacking game time in the opening games of the season or players who have been left out of the squad completely. The reason for this is that the squad and starting 11 will be revealed over WhatsApp and that will be it.
The annoyance comes from the fact that the reasons why players are left out is not communicated to them and that is all the players want to know, why they have been left out.
This latest WhatsApp controversy is not as fun as #MiamiNights, but it does feel like a poor way to communicate — IF TRUE. It would be easy to guess who might be unhappy, but — more importantly — now we might have a “kicker mole” (staying on-brand with kicker’s lower case style) to go with the “Bild Mole”, who may or may not be Thomas Müller a prominent veteran.
Real Madrid’s summer transfer plans include Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and River Plate’s Franco Mastantuono:
Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and River Plate’s Franco Mastantuono are too on Real Madrid’s shortlist.
After destroying Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, Bayern Munich shifts back to the Bundesliga for a clash with Werder Bremen.
Here’s a quick breakdown for this special edition of Bavarian Podcast Works — Sports Betting Edition:
The CBS crew took some time to compare Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane:
“Can he drop though, and get the ball?” the Arsenal legend said. Richards replied: “It’s not his game.”
“I know it’s not,” Henry continued. “But do you think he can drop, get the ball, and make things happen? Do you?”
“Not as well as we’d like to see him, no, but I do believe his all round game this season has improved from last season,” Richards said.
CBS Sport anchor Kate Scott then asked Henry whether he thought Haaland had that ability. The Frenchman was clear in that he does not believe the City star has the same capability as Kane.
“I don’t think he can, no,” said the ex-Montreal Impact boss. “Go in the middle and play like Kane can do? Right now? No. I think he can improve. Right now, he can’t do that.”
“Yeah but he doesn’t need to do [drop deep], though,” chirped in Richards. “Of course he doesn’t need [to],” Henry replied. “City are always on the ball, you don’t often need to do that.
“I was just making a point that right now, I don’t think he can do that. He will eventually, he will one day do that. But right now, he can not.”
It is sort of funny that one of the traits that has sometimes annoyed Bayern munich fans about Kane (dropping in too deep, too much) is being heralded by the CBS crew here. Certainly, there is some merit to that, but a striker’s job is — after all — to put balls into the net above all else. When it comes to that, Haaland and Kane do not have many peers these days.
Chelsea FC will make a concerted effort to obtain Victor Osimhen in January:
Chelsea could make fresh attempts to sign Victor Osimhen during the January transfer window, despite his loan move to Galatasaray.
Bayern Munich will hook up with Werder Bremen in a Bundesliga showdown this weekend, which will showcase the league leaders (Bayern) vs. a squad that has still not taken a loss this season (Werder Bremen).
