We’re all familiar with the sunbed wars when it comes to securing a prime spot by the pool on our summer holidays.
However, if you’re looking to avoid crowds, beach clubs offer a more sophisticated way to catch the sun rays – but which are the most expensive?
Betway Casino has revealed what you can expect to pay for a sun lounger rental in 2024. The priciest location can set sunbathers back a whopping £296 per day. Yes, you read that right.
The team analysed the cost to rent a sun lounger at over 130 popular beach clubs and over 60 public beaches around the world to determine the results.
They found that Arienzo Beach Club in Italy had the highest sun lounger rental prices in the world.
Renting a sun lounger at the famous Arienzo Beach Club will set sunbathers back a staggering £295.48 per day (€350).
It is considered to be a hidden gem on the Amalfi coast, so it is no wonder that Arienzo Beach Club is only accessible by shuttle boat or a very long staircase. However, it’s a popular spot with avid sunbathers to the famous village of Positano.
Another idyllic spot in Positano, overlooking Li Galli Islands, La Scogliera comes in second place as the most expensive beach resort for renting a sun lounger, costing £211.05 (€250) per day.
Nevertheless, the top 10 wasn’t all about Europe. Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas, in California, came in third place where a sun lounger rental will cost £196.79 per day ($250).
One Fire, also located on the Amalfi Coast comes in fourth at £168.86 per day (€200) and Yona Beach Club, a unique floating beach club in Thailand, comes in fifth at £160.55 (฿7,500).
Meanwhile, many of the most affordable beach clubs and beaches for sun lounger rentals can be found in Turkey.
The most affordable beach club in the ranking is Xuma Beach Club and Dodo Beach Club in Turkey where sunbathers will only have to pay £1.20 per day (₺50) to use a sun lounger.
Kuum Hotel & Spa (£2.40 or ₺100) is the second least expensive, also located in Turkey. Paradise Beach Club in Thailand comes in third place where a sunlounger costs just £4.29 per day (฿200).
Let’s not forget, the top three most affordable public beaches for renting a sunlounger can be found in Turkey – Icmeler Beach in Marmaris, Kleopatra Beach in Alanya and Blue Lagoon in Ölüdeniz where renting two sunbeds and a parasol will cost just 72p per day (₺30).
