Amundi, a leading European asset manager, has announced that Ireland’s Lauren Walsh has joined the Amundi European Team. Amundi also announced their continued support for the development of international women’s golf tournaments with the renewal of its partnership with the KPMG Women’s Irish Open.
The Amundi European Team is an initiative launched in 2021 as part of the Amundi Women Golf Talent Programme and aims to support promising young female golfers by providing financial support, increased visibility and access to competitive opportunities. To date, the programme has supported 16 players from Germany, the United States, China, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and the Czech Republic and now adds Walsh to their ranks.
Amundi is also associated with the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge and the Amundi German Masters, the next edition of which will take place from May 16 to 19 and will feature Lauren Walsh.
David Harte, Chief Executive Officer of Amundi Ireland, commented “We are delighted to support Lauren at this early stage of her professional golf career and we particularly look forward to her participation at this year’s KPMG Women’s Irish Open, which we are very happy to partner with again this year”.
Walsh, who turned professional this month was delighted wit the announcement adding: “I am excited to be joining the Amundi Women’s Golf Talent Programme at the start of my professional career. Amundi have become a leading force in the women’s game and I feel honoured to be a part of the Amundi European Team and to align with this great company and this fantastic group of players.”
